Within the activities of the National ERASMUS+ Office in Egypt, and within the declaration of the 2018, as the European Year for Cultural Heritage (#EuropeForCulture), the seminar

“ICT in Cultural Heritage”

took place on 19th April 2018 at Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University.

The seminar aimed at setting a milestone of state of the art and knowledge about new techniques / technologies / success stories for Cultural Herita

ge Exploration, Acquisition, and Presentation.

The Seminar was articulated around three main themes:

  • Cultural Heritage Exploration using Geophysical Technologies
  • Cultural Heritage Documentation
  • Cultural Heritage Presentation and Dissemination

A special session was dedicated to existing funding opportunities from the EU and its Member States.

The main objectives of the Seminar were:

  • To build a benchmark of knowledge about “state of the art” for using ICT in Cultural Heritage
  • To build / enhance relationships between various stakeholders and practitioners in the field of ICT and Cultural Heritage
  • To Disseminate knowledge / success stories / best practices about the usage of ICT in all aspects of Cultural Heritage
  • To look forward for a “Strategy/Road Map” for future application(s) of ICT in Cultural Heritage.

Experts in the field of technology and cultural heritage participated in the seminar as well as representatives from the EU Delegation in Cairo.
