Within the activities of the National ERASMUS+ Office in Egypt, and within the declaration of the 2018, as the European Year for Cultural Heritage (#EuropeForCulture), the seminar “ICT in Cultural Heritage” took place on 19th April 2018 at Faculty of Engineering – Ain Shams University.

The seminar aimed at setting a milestone of state of the art and knowledge about new techniques / technologies / success stories for Cultural Heritage Exploration, Acquisition, and Presentation.

The Seminar was articulated around three main themes:

Cultural Heritage Exploration using Geophysical Technologies
Cultural Heritage Documentation
Cultural Heritage Presentation and Dissemination
A special session was dedicated to existing funding opportunities from the EU and its Member States.

The main objectives of the Seminar were:

To build a benchmark of knowledge about “state of the art” for using ICT in Cultural Heritage
To build / enhance relationships between various stakeholders and practitioners in the field of ICT and Cultural Heritage
To Disseminate knowledge / success stories / best practices about the usage of ICT in all aspects of Cultural Heritage
To look forward for a “Strategy/Road Map” for future application(s) of ICT in Cultural Heritage.
Experts in the field of technology and cultural heritage participated in the seminar as well as representatives from the EU Delegation in Cairo.

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Erasmus+

The EU reiterates its support to Egyptian students and higher education institutions 


Cairo, 05 December 2017

On the occasion of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the European Union (EU) Erasmus+ Programme on education and training, the National Erasmus+ Office – Egypt held on Monday the 4th National Erasmus+ Day under the auspices of Ambassador Ivan Surkoš, Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt.

Erasmus+ is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of education and training, with the aim of deepening the networking between higher education institutions through offering cooperation opportunities in the form of capacity building and exchanges for students, scholars and staff.

This year's National Erasmus+ Day focused on the European higher education programmes which encompass partnerships between Egyptian and European universities and mobility grants that empower cultural and scientific exchanges of students and scholars both in Egypt and the EU.

During the event, Ambassador Surkoš announced the launch of the fourth call for proposal under Erasmus+ with a budget of EUR 140 million. The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Egyptian public and private universities, in addition to Erasmus + focal points in universities, experts of higher education reform, students and teaching staff.

The National Erasmus+ Office – Egypt organized on Monday 8th of October 2018 the 5th National Erasmus+ Day under the auspices of Ambassador Ivan Surkoš, Head of the EU Delegation to Egypt at Nile Grand Tower Hotel - Cairo. 

Erasmus+ is a funding scheme to support activities in the fields of education and training, with the aim of deepening the networking between higher education institutions through offering cooperation opportunities in the form of capacity building and exchanges for students, scholars and staff.

The National Erasmus+ Day presented the European Higher Education Programmes, partnership activation between Egyptian and European universities with a special focus on the  mobility grants for university staff and students that empowers cultural and scientific mobility in the frame of the International Credit Mobility Programme (ICM). Dedicated time slots will be given to present examples of success stories.

The event was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education and Egyptian public and private universities, in addition to Erasmus + focal points in universities, experts of higher education reform, students and teaching staff.

The National Erasmus+ Office - Egypt organized the first event of the Projects' Cafe' Series on Thursday 10/10/2019 and held in Royal Hall, Hilton Hotel, Sidi Beshr, Corniche, Alexandria. 


The event aims at enhancing the visibility of the Capacity Building Projects and giving the opportunity to face-to-face communication with projects' teams in a cafe friendly setup during the event.

We're honored with the participation of Prof. Youhansen Eid, Head of NAQAAE as a member of the Higher Education Reform Experts Group (HEREs - Egypt) with a talk about "Competence-Based Learning" during the Projects' Cafe event.
